You can now create your ideal outdoor environment for your patio. The German company Burda has modeled a patio heater concept. The concept consists of an infrared 2,000 watt waterproof heater, energy efficient LED spots, and cooling nozzles.
It can be customized with the color and size to fit the style of the specific outdoor space—whether it is for patios, restaurants, or hotels. 2. E8500 Plus
Noxious gases should not go unnoticed. This portable system detects, records, and analyzes combustion gas and emissions. It has up to nine gas sensors—six electrochemical type sensors and three NDIR type sensors—that measure everything from from true NOx and low NOx and SOx levels. The E8500 plus also has an internal pressure sensor that keeps track of differential pressure, stack draft, and gas velocity.
The E8500 Plus includes wireless bluetooth connections to connect the information recorded on the device to a real-time software and automatic data logging system on a computer. 3. Thermal Energy Storage System
Cooling is being used in tandem with energy systems for more efficient energy storage. CALMAC, a company that specializes in cool energy technologies, and Trane, which produces indoor comfort systems, are partnering to make this thermal energy storage system.
The CALMAC ice tanks are paired with Trane commercial HVAC systems to reduce the amount of energy consumed from the power grid. These tanks store energy like a battery that can then be used when the space requires cooling, creating a source of renewable energy. The system has been shown to save substantial energy costs—when installed in the new Kings County Courthouse in Hanford, California, it reduced energy costs by over $100,000, leading to a 26% energy cost reduction. trane.com
4. Reznor High-Efficiency DOAS Value Line
Nortek's new outdoor air system brings energy efficiency to smaller spaces. The system adds outdoor air requirements to light commercial spaces in sectors like education, healthcare, retail, and office settings. The system contains a modulating heat pump and enthalpy wheel technology. It also has one of the smallest DOAS footprints for an HVAC system.
This system is perfect for smaller settings because of its temperature and humidity control that works best in lighter spaces. Its settings are time-controlled for optimal efficiency, and have a heat pump for low ambient heat to prevent coil freezing.
