1. Phyn Plus
Phyn Plus is a water monitoring system that uses patented, high-definition pressure wave sensing to detect leaks and diagnose potential problems in plumbing systems before they become an issue. The advanced monitoring system helps increase water efficiency and makes preventative maintenance easier.
Created by Phyn, a joint venture between Uponor and Belkin, Phyn Plus can send mobile notifications when it detects a leak and can even turn off water systems remotely from the Phyn app. In case of a bad leak, a built-in shutoff valve can automatically turn off water systems to prevent further damage. 2. Helios
The new Helios variable air volume (VAV) diffuser released by Titus now has a solar-powered, wireless control that can harness indoor lighting or direct sunlight to improve temperature control in office spaces. The solar-powered wall sensor and plug-in postmaster enables one thermostat control to power up to 15 diffusers in a single zone with push-button pairing that does not require line-of-sight between the control and the diffusers, allowing greater placement and design flexibility.
No outside power source is required with the Helios VAV diffuser and wireless control thanks to a solar cell that can be charged by 100 lumens of ambient light, improving energy efficiency and decreasing installation costs. 3. Clarity3 Building Automation System
Taco Comfort Solutions recently released Clarity3, an intelligent turnkey building automation system. Flexible and fully programmable, it’s designed to optimize equipment operation, reduce energy costs, and increase productivity using the BACnet protocol. The Clarity3 BAS has a find/learn/act approach that establishes a framework for connectivity between systems.
The “find” theme is about narrowing focus with features like easy navigation, searching, and bookmarking. The “learn” function has dashboards, reports, and graphics that provide insight. “Act” has commands and provides notifications if problems arise. The system allows users to be mobile and follows building standards, but it’s also customizable and scalable to all construction types, making it user-friendly for building owners and controls integrators. tacocomfort.com

4. Dual Inverter Compressor Window AC
LG's new series of Dual Inverter Compressor window air conditioners delivers quiet, advanced cooling with an unprecedented increase in energy efficiency of 40% compared to their previous best-performing unit. The dual inverter compressor is the first variable-speed compressor used in room air conditioners, which constantly adjusts its speed to maintain desired temperature levels.
LG's motor and compressor configuration allow these air conditioners to operate at sound levels as low as just 44 decibels when in sleep mode. The R32 refrigerant used in the air conditioners has lower global warming potential, making the technology even greener. 5. iComfort E30 Smart Thermostat
Lennox is making remote home temperature controls smarter and more versatile with the new iComfort E30 Smart Thermostat. This Wi-Fi-enabled universal thermostat can be controlled using the iComfort app on your smartphone, tablet, or other web-enabled device. It also works with non-iComfort-enabled and non-Lennox products.
The technology includes a Feels Like feature, which creates the temperature you want to feel, not just the temperature you set. Lowering energy costs is easier with iComfort, too. The Smart Away setting detects when you’re leaving home by using your smartphone’s GPS and automatically changes your thermostat to an energy-efficient mode.
