Lascar Electronics’ data logging solutions and design software can help you optimize HVAC performance
Lascar Electronics at a Glance
- Track and monitor your conditions
- Customize your display
- Save time
- Easy to use
The PanelPilotACE Design Studio began as a solution for Lascar Electronics’ internal design team. “We wanted to be able to knock out customized panel projects quicker, so we made software that allowed us to do that,” says Brian Law, executive vice president of Lascar. “PanelPilotACE is a ‘no software engineer required’ drag and drop panel builder. It ended up being so easy that anybody can do it.”
The PanelPilotACE helps you develop an interface to track and monitor occupancy, humidity, temperature, air quality data, and more. You can control your HVAC system with the PanelPilot compatible display, too. Combined with Lascar’s data logging solutions, PanelPilotACE leads to better HVAC performance and maintenance. These are the top reasons to use an energy dashboard and data loggers.
1. Personalized display.
Build your energy dashboard yourself, or Lascar’s design team can create your project in-house. “We can take a project that would usually take two months to finish and do it with PanelPilotACE in less than a week,” Law says. “Users don’t have to create dashboards themselves, but we make all the resources available so they can.” PanelPilotACE University is an online guide that includes how-to articles, videos, and a support line.
2. Easy to use.
The PanelPilotACE doesn’t require any coding knowledge—just drag and drop elements to build a dashboard. Lascar’s display hardware is user-friendly like a smartphone or tablet, too. The 4.3-inch or 7-inch PanelPilot touchscreen displays easily configure and integrate into existing building networks.
3. Customization options.
You can customize the multi-screen interface by incorporating features like bar graph meters, touch screen buttons, data logging, and trend graphing. There are many compatible hardware interface options, too. The panel-mounted touch screen displays will run any application designed using the PanelPilotACE.
4. Detailed energy reports.
You can view temperature readings, energy trend graphs, and data analysis reports on your PanelPilot display. These insights can help inform your future energy management decisions. Four-channel temperature data logging modules are also available if you need data to be archived for auditing purposes.
5. Accurate sensor readings.
Lascar offers data loggers for carbon monoxide, temperature, humidity, and more. “Data loggers give a more granular view of the sensor data,” Law says. “You can get sensor data at the point in which you’re interested, not somewhere stuck on a wall like a normal thermostat.” For instance, you can put data loggers in an array to create heat maps that show exactly where HVAC systems need repairs or improvements.
6. Remote data access.
You can choose between USB and Wi-Fi data loggers. If you go with Wi-Fi, Lascar’s EasyLog Cloud service gives you data access from anywhere with an internet connection. The user can set alert notifications, view data, quickly change device settings, view device locations and more.
7. Better troubleshooting.
Lascar’s Wi-Fi data loggers offer real-time notifications so you can fix issues before they turn into costly repairs. “With our EasyLog Cloud service, real-time updates assist with troubleshooting which in turn could help prevent financial loss,” says Kelly Becker, marketing manager at Lascar. If you’re working with a critical environment, you can leave data loggers in place, move on to the next job, and get notified if there are major environmental changes. This allows you to stay on top of maintenance instead of finding out about an issue when it’s too late. The EasyLog Cloud service features a quick-view dashboard, powerful data analysis, detailed system audit records, and more.
PanelPilot in Action
The PanelPilotACE can monitor conditions of UV bulbs in HVAC systems. “The PanelPilot can be programmed to tell you when UV bulbs are going to need to be replaced,” says Brian Law, executive vice president of Lascar Electronics. It can also be programmed to operate only the amount of lights needed based on building occupancy data. This prevents overloading and gives each bulb a similar life span, so you can conveniently replace all of them at the same time.
